The Definitive Sustainability Summit

This sustainability week provides a dynamic platform to further discuss pressing sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) challenges by fostering collaboration between business leaders, policymakers, and sustainability experts.

Sustainability and ESG are critical as they ensure that businesses and economies prioritise long-term sustainability frameworks, ESG driven key performance indicators (KPI’s) driving economic growth while conserving natural resources and fostering social equity in Botswana.

Africa, and globally, sustainability and ESG principles assist in mitigating climate risks, attract responsible investment and create resilient economies that balance profitability with positive societal and environmental impact.

Strategic Focus
Unlocking growth across sectors
From tourism and natural capital to finance, energy, and industry.
BSW26 Shift
From dialogue to delivery
Botswana Sustainability Week 2026 marks a decisive shift from dialogue to delivery. Building on the momentum of the past three editions, BSW26 positions sustainability and ESG as practical drivers of economic transformation, investment mobilisation, competitiveness, and inclusive growth.
Who Will Convene
Cross-sector leadership
Private sector, public institutions, development partners, civil society, academia, media, and sustainability practitioners will move beyond awareness and into implementation.
Platform Goal
Sustainability and ESG as growth drivers
This year's platform is designed to activate private sector leadership as a practical force for economic transformation, competitiveness, and inclusive growth.
3-Day Challenge
Throughout the three days, organisations will be challenged to:
  • Identify ESG and sustainability initiatives aligned to their organisational mandates and strategies.
  • Identify strategic partners within the platform whose mandates complement their initiatives.
  • Develop collaborative implementation approaches.
  • Explore funding and co-financing opportunities.
  • Present collaborative concepts by the final day of the platform.
Objective
Practical collaborative initiatives
The goal is for organisations to leave Botswana Sustainability Week not only with knowledge and networks, but with practical collaborative initiatives to implement over the next three years.
Tracking
Annual impact reporting
Progress on these initiatives will be tracked and shared annually through impact reporting during future editions of the platform.
Long-Term Value
Accountability and sustained collaboration
This approach is intended to strengthen accountability, encourage measurable implementation, and create a culture of long-term collaboration and sustainable impact across Botswana's public, private, and non-profit sectors.
